Lorenzo C. Gealogo, Choir Master

Lorenzo C. Gealogo retired from a full-time I.T profession after 14 years in the corporate world working for several leading banks in the Philippines. Even without a formal music education in college, his training in musical aesthetics dates back to his primary years, specifically in grade 2 where he would always lead and conduct the national anthem in front of hundreds of fellow students mostly very senior to him.

He joined other choral/music groups either as trainee or member such as:
The world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers(member-trainee), Canticle Choir(member), Opera Chorus of the Philippines(member), Silayan Cultural Group(member), Manila Science High School Glee Club(member), Patatag(member), Grace Nono Band (World Music band) (member).

Choral groups where he is or was artistic director/choirmaster/asst. choirmaster/voice coach/performance coach were:
Coro San Benildo-La Salle St. Benilde(current), TINING-Letran Calamba Chorale(current), Koro De San Juan-Letran Calamba High School, TOTAL Philippines Chorale(current), Koro Makamisa(current), Korus (current), PETA, Arellano Law Singers, Mabini High School Chorale, Saint John Bosco Chorale, Voice of Manila, U.P. Manila Chorale, PLDT Chorale, Solidbank Chorale, Fortune Life Insurance Chorale, PCIBank Church Chorale, Interbank Chorale, Dusit Nikko Hotel Singers, Colegio San Agustin High School Chorale, Manresa Sophomore Chorale and the former boy band Pipes.

His skills are focused on stage acting/singing, voice training, music composition, scriptwriting, concert directing, arranging “a capella” choral pieces and musical accompaniments/scores for the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Unilever TVC jingles and others. He was also the vocal arranger and backup singer of the Grace Nono band and was voice coach for several PETA productions in the past and has been a member of the PETA music ensemble.

He appeared in several CCP Tanghalang Pilipino musicals like Noli Me Tangere and Ilustrado both by Ryan Cayabyab, playing the roles of Padre Damaso and Tenyente Licaroz respectively that went on national tour in 1996. He also appeared on several TV series such as Noli Me Tangere by Eddie Romero (Channel 4 then and Knowledge Channel now), PETAbisyon TV series under the late Ysmael Bernal (Channel 4) and Dear Teacher drama series also by Ysmeal Bernal (Channel 13).
      
He directed (as musical director, voice coach, overall director) over 25 concerts & talent shows in the past among which were: 

“Biyaheng Langit” (PETA, Noel Cabangon, Cookie Chua, Bodjie Pascua & Malou De Guzman), “Munting Mundo” & “Viva La Musica” (UP Manila Chorale), “A Hymn To Him” (Solidbank Chorale), “Bosesan” (Voice of Manila, Chorus Paulinus, PWU Chorale, Napocor Chorale and the Philippine Madrigal Singers), “Evo-LAW-tion”, “MUBAKA” Concert Series, RIZAL Day Concert 2002 and Arellano Law School 65th Anniversary Concert 2003, “Denim-o-LAW-gy”(Arellano Law Singers), “Journey, in the Season of Light” (Saint John Bosco Chorale), “StarHunt 2003” (Pateros Chapter), “Bayer Philippines 2005 Corporate Kick-Off” (Bayer Philippines), “TOTAL Philippines 2006 Kick-Off” (TOTAL Philippines), “Tining In Concert” (Letran Calamba Chorale maiden concert in February 2008)

He is a commercial jingle voice talent for HIT Productions and has sung quite a number of TV commercial jingles and also scores TV commercials as well. Plus, he is now into professional video producing, editing and animation for government documentaries, live concert video support, business presentations and MTVs. He is a freelance Production/Events consultant, an I.T. Integrator consultant, a Project consultant and a Marketing consultant for several local and multinational companies and foundations in the Philippines. He is presently the choirmaster of “Tining”, the resident institutional chorale of Letran Calamba, Coro San Benildo, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde’s resident chorale, Korus (Parañaque-based parish choir), Koro Makamisa (Calamba-based choir),  Le Voice de TOTAL (TOTAL Philippines resident chorale) and artistic director for the EVOLUTION band based in Calamba. He still coaches several amateur and professional singers and singing groups in the country today.
